COMPETITION INFORMATION

The Help for Kids Win a Wedding competition is open to entrants on website www.helpforkids.org.uk between 9:00am on Monday 4th of March 2019 until 17:00 on Monday 25th of March 2019. Registration into the competition signifies agreement to all rules.

Confirmed wedding date: Friday 27th of March 2020, at the Quay Dundee.

Completion of the online entry form, including satisfactory answers to the questions, will gain entrance to the competition.

The couples selected from the application process will be asked to attend an interview in front of a judging panel on either Monday 1st of April, Tuesday 2nd of April or Wednesday 3rd of April 2019, at the Quay Dundee. Couples will be contacted by telephone on Wednesday 27th of March 2019 confirming their interview time.

From the interview process, six couples in total will be selected to fundraise on the behalf of Help for Kids and will be advised by Thursday 4th of April 2019 if they have been successful.

Fundraising will take place over three weeks starting from Monday 8th of April 2019 and will finish by midday on Monday 29th of April 2019. Any money given after this time will not be counted.

The couple who raise the most money will win the wedding.

The winner will be announced at the Quay Dundee on Thursday 2nd of May 2019.

All six couples are required to attend the Big Reveal on Thursday 2nd of May 2019, where the winner will be announced. All suppliers will also attend on this date. Exact timings will be confirmed to the couples on the lead up to the date.

Help for Kids will supply sponsorship forms.

T-shirts, fundraising ideas and buckets will be supplied to all couples on Friday 5th of April 2019 and can be collected from Wave FM, 11 Buchannan Street, Dundee, DD4 6SD from 10:00am.

Help for Kids will be a support system for all couples throughout the fundraising period. Contact details will be given at the time of merchandise collection.

Couples are to hand all monies raised into Help for Kids after each week of fundraising, with the final amount being handed in on Monday 29th of April 2019 by midday. All monies are to be handed into the Wave FM office (address details above).

SUPPLIER DETAILS

VENUE: The Quay Dundee

WEDDING PACKAGE:

  • Use of our venue for the ceremony, plus wedding breakfast, for up to 50 guests;
  • Glass of prosecco after the ceremony per day guest;
  • Three course set wedding breakfast from our menu selector;
  • Use of the venue for the evening reception for up to 100 guests;
  • A mini buffet for up to 100 guests.

IN ADDITION THE BRIDE & GROOM WILL RECEIVE:

  • Red carpet arrival and glass of champagne for Bride and Groom;
  • Personalised menus;
  • Wedding cake stand and knife to use on the day;
  • Menu tasting for two.

Additional day and evening guests can be added and will be charged separately.

ACCOMMODATION: Hotel Indigo will provide:

  • An overnight stay for two, with breakfast, on the night of the wedding.

Any additional costs to be charged to the winners.

CELEBRANT: Fuze Ceremonies will provide:

  • A humanist wedding ceremony, provided by celebrant;
  • Ceremony composition.

Any additional costs to be charged to the winners.

DRESS: Innate Bridals will provide:

  • A bridal dress up to the value of £600.

Please note the bride must be available for measurements and any alterations. This will be charged to the winners.

KILTS: McCall’s Dundee will provide:

  • Groom’s kilt, plus three wedding party members, up to the value of £130 each;
  • Private fitting evening for the gentlemen, with provided snacks;
  • Also includes shirt/socks per person.

Any additional costs to be charged to the winners.

FITNESS: DW Fitness First will provide:

  • 6 weeks membership for both bride and groom, leading up to the wedding;
  • One half hour Personal Training sessions per week.

Any additional costs to be charged to the winners.

DRESS: Girls Just Wanna Have Fun will provide:

  • A hen party package, for up to 8 people, consisting of:
    • Burlesque dance party;
    • Glass of sparkling wine on arrival;
    • Party games;
    • 90 minute routine.

Any additional costs to be charged to the winners.

FLOWERS: Acanthus Florists will provide:

  • Top table;
  • Bride’s bouquet;
  • 2 x bridesmaids bouquet;
  • Groom, best man & two guests’ buttonholes.

Any additional costs to be charged to the winners.

CHAIR COVERS/SASHES & CENTRE PIECES: Sparkle Magic Events will provide:

  • Classic package for 50 guests, consisting of:
    • Choice of chair covers: lycra, lycra with skirt, polycotton or high back covers for restaurant chairs (in black or white);
    • Choice of colour sash in organza, satin, taffeta or floral;
    • Choice of centrepiece which includes mirror plate and scatter crystals;
      • Centrepieces available are: Lily vase, candelabras in silver, gold or rose gold, birdcage, silver lantern, martini vase, mazantia tree, fishbowls (single or stacked) available in large, medium and small, Set of 3 vases (40cm, 30cm & 20cm), 40cm vase with floral ring, floral ring with candle.
    • Any of the fillable centrepieces are available with your choice of filling;
    • Also a card & gift table along with a welcome sign, either a chalk board or mirror.

PHOTOGRAPHY: Lyndsey Philip Photography will provide:

  • Gold Package: Photographs covering every part of your special day, with special photography for the bride and groom. All photos will be printable on a USB pen. You will also receive a beautiful bespoke leatherette 12 x 8 wedding album.

Any additional costs to be charged to the winners.

VIDEOGRAPHY: I Do Videos will provide:

  • Bridal party getting ready;
  • Artistic shots of the venue;
  • Opening titles;
  • Arrival of the Bridal party and guests;
  • Marriage ceremony, vows, signing of the register;
  • Reception, speeches, cutting of the cake, first dance;
  • Music of your choice throughout;
  • Highlights reel;
  • Vimeo link;
  • One DVD or Blu-Ray in personalised, bespoke packaging, which includes your highlights reel, ceremony, speeches and first dance footage (additional copies available – see optional extras);
  • Customised USB pen with highlights reel (in MP4 format).

PIPER: Thistle Piping will provide:

  • A professional piper:
    • To pipe the bride into the ceremony;
    • To pipe the bride and groom out of the ceremony;
    • To pipe the bride and groom to the top table.

Any additional costs to be charged to the winners.

CAKE: Campbell’s House of Cakes will provide:

  • A wedding cake up to the value of £650.

Any additional costs to be charged to the winners.

PRE-WEDDING SKIN CARE: In the Line of Beauty will provide:

  • A 6 week healthy skin package for the bride;
  • A pre-wedding gel nail polish for up to two of the female bridal party the week before the wedding.

Any additional costs to be charged to the winners.

HAIR: Freedom Hair Dundee will provide:

  • Wedding hair for the bride, two bridesmaids and two flower girls;
  • Pre-wedding colour treatment also included.

Any additional costs to be charged to the winners.

AISLE DECOR: Lovely Things Event Hire will provide:

  • Welcome decor and aisle decor;
  • Personalised blackboard;
  • Candle arrangements.

Any additional costs to be charged to the winners.

PHOTOBOOTH OR SELFIE MIRROR: Fun K Pix will provide:

  • Two hour wedding package:
    • Photobooth or selfie mirror (subject to availability);
    • Instant double photo prints & photo album;
    • Prop box full of fun;
    • Personalised message or name on photo;
    • USB key with all photos and video messages;
    • Coloured, black and white or sepia photo choice;
    • Single photo or four fun photos;
    • Set up and dismantle;
    • Fun K Pix photo booth attendant.

Capacity of up to six people in booth at one time. Any additional costs to be charged to the winners.

DJ: Headline Entertainment will provide:

  • Wedding DJ from 19:30pm – 12:00am.

Any additional costs to be charged to the winners.

ROULETTE TABLES: Fabulous Fun Casinos will provide:

  • Two “fun money” roulette tables for the evening reception

Any additional costs to be charged to the winners.

LOVE LETTERS: The Incredible Party Company will provide:

  • Love Letters for the evening reception.

Any additional costs to be charged to the winners.

COMPETITION TERMS & CONDITIONS

These terms and conditions (“Terms”) are supplemental to and should be read in conjunction with any specific entry instructions or terms applying to the specific competition (“Competition Information”) and in the event of inconsistency, these Terms shall prevail.

To enter a competition all entrants must comply with the entry requirements set out in the competition Information and these Terms. The entrant is aware that failure to comply with the competition information or the terms may result in his/her disqualification from the competition.

Help for Kids reserves the right to update/amend these terms at their sole discretion at any time and any changes will become effective as soon as they are published on the appropriate site/publication.

ENTRY REQUIRMENTS

Employees and freelancers, or members of their immediate families (who are either spouses, parents, children or siblings), of:

Help for Kids; DC Thomson; The Quay Dundee;

Or any company or sponsor associated with a specific competition,

ARE NOT eligible to enter the Win a Wedding Competition.

Unless not otherwise stated in the competition information, entry to this competition is restricted to entrants who are residents of the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Anyone under the age of 18 will need to obtain parental consent before submitting their entry.

Help for Kids reserves the right at any time to require entrants to provide proof of identity as evidence of eligibility to participate. If an entrant does not comply with a request to provide proof of identity, or provides any false/misleading information, Help for Kids may, at our discretion, disqualify the entrant from the competition entirely or, where appropriate, allocate the prize to another eligible entrant. This decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into about a decision regarding eligibility.

ENTRY

Entry into the Help for Kids Win a Wedding Competition is free of charge.

Anyone under the age of 18 must obtain parental consent before submitting their entry.

No existing bookings for any other hotels are eligible for this competition.

All wedding prize dates have been reserved. They are not transferable. Couples have to be able to fulfil their remaining wedding arrangements and legal requirements for the confirmed wedding date.

Entries must be submitted in accordance with the specified format in the competition information. Proof of making a phone call, sending an e-mail or posting is not proof of receipt of your entry and Help for Kids will accept no responsibility for lost, damaged or delayed entries or entries which are not received for any reason.

The closing date for entries will be specified in the Competition Information (and may be extended at the absolute discretion of Help for Kids) and winners will be notified on the date specified in the Competition Information. Any late entries will not be accepted but the participant may still incur any associated costs.

Incomplete or illegible entries will not be counted and will be discarded. Help for Kids has no responsibility to inform any entrant that their entry is incomplete or illegible or not valid for entry to a competition.

Help for Kids is not liable for any associated cost to entrants, winners or their parents or guardians of entering a competition or claiming a prize unless expressly specified in the Competition Information.

Entrants (including the winners) hereby assign all intellectual property rights and waive all moral rights in their entry to Help for Kids Win a Wedding Competition. Entries cannot be returned to entrants unless Help for Kids specifically agrees to do so. Where materials are returned to the participant, Help for Kids accepts no responsibility for the safe return of any material or its return in an undamaged condition or any liability for loss or damage to such material.

In entering the competition, you warrant that all information you submit is correct and not obscene or offensive or otherwise in breach of any third party rights and Help for Kids reserves the right to verify the eligibility of all entrants. Help for Kids reserves the right to disqualify any entrant from the competition if it believes (in its sole discretion) that such entrant has breached any of these terms or the specific terms applying to the competition.

Entrants (including winners) shall not do or say anything that could damage or harm the reputation of Help for Kids or its group companies, the promoter of the competition (if different), any products included within its publications or any Help for Kids publication or sites.

Winning couples will be asked to share their story and preparations through the Evening Telegraph and all of Help for Kid’s social media channels.

Help for Kids will own the copyright on entries.

JUDGING PANEL

Entries will be judged by a panel of judges at the registration and interview stages. The judging panel’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

Unless expressed otherwise in the Competition Information, if, for any reason, Help for Kids is unable to contact a winner to inform them that they have won a competition, or if a winner does not contact Help for Kids within a reasonable period of Help for Kids sending notification to such winner to confirm acceptance of a prize, then Help for Kids reserves the right (in its sole discretion) to select an alternative winner.

PRIZE

The couple who raises the most money will be deemed the winner and will receive the wedding package.

Help for Kids reserves the right to amend the prize package at any time.

There is no cash alternative to any part of this promotion or its prizes.

No refunds are available for any reason on any part of the prize.

In the event the winners are unable to take up the prize for any reason, Help for Kids reserves the right to offer the prize to the entrant with the next highest fundraising amount raised.

The prizes offered in competitions may be provided by a sponsor (or alternative promoter) rather than Help for Kids and in such circumstances Help for Kids does not accept any responsibility for the accuracy of any prize descriptions supplied by such third parties.

A third party providing the prize in a competition may impose terms and conditions upon the use or the acceptance of the prize. The winner shall be advised of these terms and conditions prior to their acceptance of the prize.

Prizes are subject to availability. No cash alternative is available. Help for Kids and/or, (if applicable) the competition sponsor reserve the right to offer an alternative prize of equal or greater value than that advertised. The prizes are not transferable.

WINNERS

Prize winners are responsible for paying any additional costs directly to suppliers.

Help for Kids may pass details of winners to a third party company who are directly involved with the competition and who will deliver any prizes to winners on behalf of Help for Kids.

PUBLICATION OF THE WINNERS’ NAMES

The names of the winners and the results of competition may be published by Help for Kids in our relevant publications and/or on our relevant online channels.

PUBLICITY AND USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

Couples agree that (if they win) they will take part in such reasonable competition-related publicity as Help for Kids may require and accept that Help for Kids will publicise their entry, which would include photographs/images submitted as part of their entry, names, likeness and statements in connection with/resulting from the competition in any and all media. Unless stated otherwise in the competition information, no entrants or winners shall be obliged to take part in any photo publicity.

Any entrants should not enter into any correspondence or give any interviews with any third party’s on any matters which arise from the competition, without written permission of Help for Kids.

Help for Kids and third party suppliers involved in the competition may use any data supplied by the entrants to process the competition, inform winning participants of their winning entry, distribute prizes and, where the relevant marketing permissions have been collected, to contact entrants in relation to other competitions it runs or to market products or services it believes may be of interest to them.

Entry into the competition will constitute consent to the uses of data contained in these Terms.

Please find below the terms and conditions for individual suppliers. The omission of a supplier’s terms and conditions below does not invalidate any terms and conditions communicated to the winner by the supplier after the competition ends.

SPARKLE MAGIC EVENTS TERMS & CONDITIONS

Any additional items can be hired and a discount of 20% will be applied to all extra items, except for chair covers which will receive 10% discount as these are already discounted for DoubleTree couples.

All hire items, including competition prize, are your responsibility during the course of the wedding (Friday 12th October).

Sparkle Magic Events will contact you to arrange a meeting to go through your choices in your package. The meeting usually takes place around 3 months prior to the wedding. However, this can be done at any time that suits you up until 12th September 2018.

BROKEN OR DAMAGED ITEMS

Any items damaged or broken will be charged for. Photographic evidence of any damaged will be provided

Damaged items are defined as irreparable as follows: cigarette burns, cuts, holes, smashed glass, missing contents, chips, etc. We will not charge for marks or food & drink stains, unless these are excessive and beyond normal expectations or wear and tear.
All hire products are the responsibility of the named person on the booking form/contract, any damage caused by third parties or your venue will be payable, you will need to make necessary arrangement to recoup the funds from them direct. All hire products remain the property of Sparkle Magic Events.

SET UP TERMS

We are not responsible for the turnaround of your room between the ceremony/meal/evening reception if the same room is to be used. However, if required, we can arrange to complete this for you but this must be arranged before your event, as an extra charge will be required.

INNATE BRIDAL TERMS & CONDITIONS

A monetary value of £600 can be put towards any gown in store. Any short fall needs to be settled by bride directly with Innate Bridal, and this cannot be exchanged for cash value. Please note the bride must be available for measurements and any alterations – this will be charged to the winners directly.

McCALL’S LTD TERMS & CONDITIONS STANDARD HIRE

A standard Hire runs for 3 days (excluding Sundays)

A Kilt pin is not included in a standard hire. Montrose Belts are not included when a formal waistcoat is worn (unless separately ordered).

ADDITIONAL DAYS

If the hire is required for longer than the standard 3 days, a minimum charge of £10.00 per outfit for each additional day will be made. Individual items will incur accost of £5.00 per additional day. Prices may vary depending on the price of the goods hired.

DEPOSITS

A deposit of £20.00 will be required at the time of booking to secure our hire.

This is a non-refundable deposit, which forms part if your overall hire payment. (With the exception of distance selling transactions)

All outstanding balances on hires must be paid for in full before or upon collection.

PROOF OF IDENTITY AND ADDRESS

Two forms of identification must be shown before a booking can be secured and thereafter collected. One must be photographic I.D and another showing your current address (e.g. a utility bill less than three months old).

CHECK YOUR CONFIRMED BOOKING FORM

Please check your booking receipt to ensure that the dates and items booked for your hire are correct.

ACCIDENTAL DMAGE INSURANCE

A.D.I is available at £8.00 per hire. Individual items are charged at £6.00 per item.

A.D.I covers for the specialist cleaning cost caused by spillages and for any repair cost caused by any minor damage such as cigarette burns or small tears.

The Accidental Damage Insurance DOES NOT COVER LOSS, THEFT, or MALICIOUS DAMAGE.

MALICIOUSLY DAMAGED ITEMS

You, the Customer, will be liable for the replacement cost of any item, maliciously damaged, at the Current Retail Value.

McCalls recommend that underwear be worn under Hire garments. The customer will be liable for any specialist cleaning cost required caused by the non wearing of underwear.

STOLEN, LOST AND NON RETURN (including the return of non-company stock)

You, the Customer, will be liable for the replacement cost of any item, at Current Retail Value. This includes the occasion where goods not belonging to the company have been returned; these items will be forwarded to the police as lost property.

In addition an administrative charge of up to £250 may be levied.

COLLECTION

The Hire is available for collection on the day prior to your function unless otherwise arranged.

Booking receipts MUST BE SHOWN when collecting the hire.

CHECKING OF THE HIRE

A member of staff will check over the Hire with you. The customer, at the time of collection.

If any item does not appear to be correct or is missing, please advise the salesperson in order that any errors may be rectified before leaving the shop.

PLEASE TRY ON YOUR COLLECTED HIRE

McCalls suggest that you try on your outfit prior to leaving the store.

If this is not an option then on returning home, please try on your outfit as soon as possible; this is to allow enough time for any amendments to be made to your Hire outfit if necessary. If you do have problems please contact the shop as soon as possible. Please refer to the front of your booking form for contact details.

Please Note: The Company will NOT be held responsible for any mistakes if this procedure is not completed.

RETURNING THE HIRES

All Hires should be returned before 3.00 p.m. on the return date stated on the front of the hire form.

If the return of the Hire exceeds the agreed return date a charge of £40.00 per additional day will be levied.

The Hires must be checked back in by a member of staff, to ensure all hired items are returned and are in good condition.

CANCELLATIONS

In the event of the hire being cancelled the deposit of £20.00 will not be refunded or be transferable. (Excluding certain distance selling bookings). All other monies paid will be refunded.

DISTANCE SELLING BOOKINGS

If a hire is booked without face-to-face contact (e.g. via the internet, phone or fax). This type of booking has a 7day cooling off period, whereby you, the customer, have 7 days from the “entered date” (which can be found on the front of the booking form) to cancel your hire and receive a full refund including deposit. This does not apply for last minute booking where the entered date and the collection date are less than 7 days apart.

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL CUSTOMERS: While McCalls Ltd undertake to do everything in their power to ensure that all hire items supplied are as ordered we reserve the right to substitute alternative hire items. Although highly regrettable, customer collecting hire must appreciate that there are certain factors out with our control, specifically the late return of hire articles, hire articles returned damaged, o in certain instances, hire articles not returned at all. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and would appreciate your understanding and acceptance in the event of your order being in any of the aforementioned categories.

LYNDSEY PHILIP PHOTOGRAPHY TERMS & CONDITIONS

Winner’s to liaise directly and arrange a meeting with Lyndsey Philip to discuss the run through of the day.

CAMPBELLS HOUSE OF CAKES TERMS & CONDITIONS

A wedding cake up to the value of £650.00. Any additional costs to be charged to the winners. Campbell’s House of Cakes will deliver and set the wedding cake up on the day. Winner’s to liaise directly with Campbell’s House of Cakes to choose their wedding costs and any additional charges are to be charged to the winners.

I DO VIDEOS TERMS & CONDITIONS

Winners to liaise directly with I Do Videos to discuss package details and timings for the wedding date. Any additional charges are to be charged to the winners.

 

FREEDOM HAIR DUNDEE TERMS & CONDITIONS

Winners to liaise directly with the salon to arrange all consolations, timings etc. Patch tests may be required and is to be arranged directly with the salon. Cannot be exchanged for a cash value, the services are non-transferable for any other services and non-transferable to third parties. Release form’s by the entrants and the ultimate winner will be required to be filled out agreeing to any film or photographs taken in conjunction with the competition and services delivered as part of entering the competition can be used as promotion by participating companies in the media and on social media up to and including the wedding.

IN THE LINE OF BEAUTY TERMS & CONDITIONS

Winner to liaise directly with In the Line of Beauty to organise any appointments and requirements with regards to the wedding day. Prize can’t be swapped for cash value, treatments subject to consultation and suitability. Any additional charges are to be charged to the winners.

FUN K PIX TERMS & CONDITIONS

Photobooth or selfie mirror hire subject to availability.

PRIZE: Two hours hire, 8.30pm -10.30pm, including travel with in a 25 mile radius of Dundee City Centre.

DAMAGE LOSS AND REPAIR

The Hirer shall be responsible for the loss, theft or destruction of or for any damage to the Photo Booth occasioned in any manner or by whosoever or by any cause whatsoever while the Photo Booth is at the Hirer’s risk (other than as a result of fair wear and tear) and fully and effectually indemnify the funkpix-photobooth.co.uk in respect of all claims, proceedings, costs, expenses, loss, damage and liabilities incurred by the funkpix-photobooth.co.uk arising directly or indirectly form any such loss, theft, destruction or damage.

shall not be responsible for any losses or equipment failure which is beyond its control.

TERMINATION ON DEFAULT, ETC

The funkpix-photobooth.co.uk may by written notice (in addition to any other rights) terminate this Agreement or suspend its performance of all or any of its obligations under the same immediately and whether for compensation or damages or otherwise if the Hirer fails to comply with any of its obligations under the terms of this Agreement.

ENTIRE AGREEMENT

This Agreement expresses the entire agreement between of the Parties in respect of the matters contained or referred to in it and there are no promises, terms, conditions or obligations oral or written express or implied other than those contained herein.

No warranties, representations or other matters were relied upon by the Hirer causing it to enter into this Agreement other than those expressly set out herein.

This Agreement shall not otherwise be modified in any way except through the agreement by the Parties.

Except in the case of fraudulent misrepresentation the only remedy available to the Hirer in respect of any misrepresentation or untrue statement made to it shall be a claim for breach of contract.

If in the event that the Photo Booth cannot be delivered due to mechanical failure or transportation, or the photo booth malfunctions to a point of being unusable to record photos or videos, funkpix-photoboth.co.uk will be liable for a full refund of the booking amount only.

INCREDIBLE PARTY SERVICES TERMS & CONDITIONS

Winners to liaise directly with Incredible Party Services to confirm all set up details/down timings. Any additional costs to be charged to the winners.
